How To Join the Dayton Boat Club

Greetings Prospective Rowers,

We hope that when you have had a chance to gather enough information you will be excited about joining the Dayton Boat Club. In order to participate in any of our programs you must know how to swim! Our safety rules are listed on the website for your convenience to read and follow. We take them seriously.

We offer both Juniors and Masters Rowing Programs. Summer rowing camps are provided by the Dayton Boat Club coaching staff and University of Dayton Rowing Coaches. Our coaches have national titles and the athlete-to-coach ratio is an incredible 5:1! The individual attention that we get has helped us to develop our competitive edge.

Junior refers to the rowing classification used for high school age students grade 9-12. If you are not yet in high school, but are in grades 7-9 and are interested in exploring the sport of rowing, sign up for the June rowing camp. Participants in the camp may continue sculling lessons throughout the summer.

These camps are available for Juniors and Masters, alike. We will have more details about the Juniors camp coming soon on our parent information page.

Our Masters Program has much to offer, as well! We range from beginners to experts but we all have one thing in common, our love for the sport. To qualify for the masters program you must be at least 27 years old.

There are many events for club members, competitive team members, and their families, including Regattas and indoor races. Please take a moment to look at our program information and get your application in before the next session begins! We hope to see you on the water.

Happy Rowing!

Cordially,

Lisa Shimp
