Malone signs Letter of Intent

Dayton Boat Club rower Jackie Malone (lower right) signed a National Letter of Intent to row with the University of Notre Dame on Nov. 12. Jackie, an Oakwood high senior, signed at a gathering of family members and teammates at DBC’s Moraine boathouse. Watching as Jackie signs are her parents, Dick and Anne Malone (standing) and DBC Head Coach Mike Miles (seated).

While rowing for DBC, Jackie has rowed in boats that won medals at the US Rowing Nationals, Midwest Championships, Cincinnati Invitational, Hoover Invitational, and Governor’s Cup regattas. In summer 2006, her boat placed second in the petite final at US Rowing Youth Nationals.

She has been a co-captain of DBC’s team since 2005. Jackie will be studying civil engineering at Notre Dame. “We are so pleased that Jackie will be studying at such a fine university and will be working with a wonderful rowing staff and team there. We’re also grateful that she has received such solid rowing skills at Dayton Boat Club,” said mother Anne Malone.
