Adult winter indoor workouts

Every December, the Dayton Boat Club begins its indoor training using rowing machines called ergometers to build strength, speed and endurance. New members are welcome and encouraged to join during the winter; besides being a great workout, it’s an opportunity to learn the mechanics of rowing before starting on the water.

If you'd like to join the club for winter workouts, get in touch with the adult program manager. 

• Practices: Evenings Monday through Wednesday; Saturday mornings; cross-training Thursday
• Cost for the whole season: $210 for December through March.
• Workouts are at the YMCA in downtown Dayton, so a membership is necessary from December through March. The club receives a small discount.

New winter workout participants can take the learn-to-row course in April and begin rowing with the novice team on the water.

This video is out of date (it promotes a 2017 program), but it's full of good reasons to start rowing indoors this winter. For information, contact the adult program manager.
