ROWING SEASONS

DBC Junior teams row four seasons per year.  Rowers can participate in as many or as few seasons as they want.

The information below is general information about our seasons.

Spring Season: Beginning of March to the end of May
​​​Prerequisites: No rowing experience necessary for U14 (12-13) or Novice (14+)

U14: Practice 2x/week
Novice:  Practice 6x/week
Varsity:  
Practice 5x/week


Potential Regattas for Novice and/or Varsity: 
  • Cincy Invitational (Cincinnati, OH): 
  • The Hoover (Columbus, OH)
  • The Dogwood (Oakridge, TN)
  • Indianapolis Sculling (Indianapolis, IN)
  • Midwest Championships (Cincinnati, OH)
  • Youth Nationals (Sarasota, FL)

​Summer Season: Mid-June to Early August
​​​Prerequisites:  One season of rowing
Practice: 4x/week

Potential Regattas: 
  • Midwest Summer Sprints
  • Michigan Invitational

Fall Season: Late August to Early November
​​​Prerequisites: No rowing experience necessary for U14 (12-13 year olds) or Novice (14+)

U14: Practice 2x/week
Novice: Practice 5x/week
Varsity: 
Practice 5x/week

​Potential Regattas for Novice and/or Varsity:
  • Hoover (Columbus, OH)
  • Speakmon (Columbus, OH)
  • Head of the Hooch (Chattanooga, TN)

​Winter Conditioning: Early December to Late February
​​​Prerequisites: No rowing experience necessary for Novice (14+)

Novice: Practice 4x/week

Varsity: Practice 5x/week

Erg Races: Cincinnati Indoor Rowing Sprints
